The continuous improvement of the North Monroe corridor is a strategic priority for Leon County and efforts to focus and expedite improvements have been ongoing for years. In addition to the previous accomplishments on the North Monroe Corridor, Leon County has three strategic initiatives in the FY2022-2026 Strategic Plan.
These initiatives are:
  • Develop an interactive community web-based tool that documents planned improvements, tracks investments, and identifies enhancement strategies for the North Monroe Corridor area.
  • Building on the Citizens North Monroe Task Force Final Report, host an intensive, multi-day design charrette to work with the community to identify and evaluate a variety of land use/planning strategies and other proposals for the continued improvement of the North Monroe Corridor area.
  • Implement the recommendations of the Citizen’s North Monroe Street Task Force to reduce crime and improve conditions along the North Monroe Corridor.
